We have decided to make one twitter feed for the
band, the reason we have done this is so people who want to know about the band
can get all the information from one place. It would save fans having to look
through several different social media accounts, and they will be able to get
news like when tours are etc. we feel it would have more of an authentic feel
to it because many bands do the same have the one twitter represent the band
and often will have their own personal accounts as well.

risk assesment
The reason we have created a risk assessment is because we now know what we need to be more careful about, it will help us when we are filming as we can hopefully deliver a good video with being safe.

examples of music videos with poor quality green screens
In this video the band uses a green screen and they have got a bouncy castle in the shot as a prop, the green screen shows trees on the side of a road as if you're driving, it is also filmed in black and white therefore bring out the different more vibrant colours of the bouncy castle. This video also sticks with our chosen genre so it shows that green screens are used in our genre.
This whole video is filmed with a green screen in the background, the quality of the green screen is very bad, even though this is our genre if we did one similar to this it could make it look more playful which would fit in with our genre.
This video also uses green screen for the whole song, the green screen is purposely as it makes you look a bit weird which will suit with in the genre as it's alternative.

reasons for using poor quality green screen
We have chosen to use green screen in our video for one of our shots. We believe that this will fit in with the genre because artists within the same genre have also done this. Artists such as rat boy and crystal castles have done the same. It looked bad and we want to replicate this effect. the effect that we want to replicate is a purposely bad green screen. This adds humor to a music video and a sense of lightheartedness. This is the atmosphere we want to create so it would make sense to incorporate green screen in our video.
Other indie artists that we are taking inspiration from, their videos are also lighthearted. For instance, Jamie T - Sticks and Stones video, Jamie and his friends throw beer cans and various other items at the camera, but not in a crude way; you can see from their gleaming smiles on their faces. In other examples, videos have skits half way through the video where the music stops and the artist acts out or genuinely does something funny or disjunctive to the song. An example of this would b in Rat Boy's Sign On video where he stalls the car halfway through the song. Using a green screen would replicate this lightheartedness and match our genre.
One of the main inspirations we have taken the green screen idea from is The Mighty Boosh. However, this is not a music video and is instead a TV programme. Taking inspiration from a TV programme is unconventional but it works with the atmosphere we want to create. In The Mighty Boosh, they use green screen as a point of subtle humor because the programme doesn't directly point it out and laughs at it, instead the audience is left to look at it by them self and understand that it is a joke. This is obvious because of how bad the green screen is. We want to take inspiration from this and use green screen, therefore our audience will notice this and understand that the video is lighthearted.

schedule list
Completed
- Establishing shots of Leicester and abandoned buildings.
- Medium shots of main artist in the Leicester environment
- Chosen the artist name
- Chosen the song
- Researched into other music videos similar to our genre
To do/schedule list
- Performance run through with a hand held camera in Leicester
- Performance run through coming out a van
- Shots at a train station
- Shots at a controlled bonfire
- More medium shots of main artist doing mundane things such as, in shops, walking, talking with friends, etc.
- Filming with green screen
Justified reasons
We gained establishing shots because almost all forms of cinematography, i.e. TV shows, music videos, films, etc, have establishing shots. We want our music video to look real and genuine so including establishing shots would add to the realism because real pieces of media use them. Establishing shots are used to show the audience where a certain character is to set up some kind development. In our case, we wanted to show how our main artist comes from the city in the establishing shots. Having cities included in the video fits with our genre because most indie artist come from medium sized cities like Leicester.
Abandoned buildings fit with our genre too because indie artists are often associated with rough, scummy, rural locations and abandoned buildings are also associated with this. Not only does it fit with our genre but it also looks better than either a standard building (this can be boring) or a spectacular piece of architecture (doesn't fit with the genre and wouldn't fit with the lightheartedness of the video.
We chose to call our artist "Bathtub Shouting" because it fits with the genre we are trying the replicate. Our genre is indie alternative; other artists in this genre have odd names such as 'King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard', 'Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti' and 'Dishrags'. As a group, we wanted to create a weird name like these. We chose Bathtub Shouting. The shouting can refer to the stereotypical rowdiness of indie artists and the bathtub element is the weird and 'out of the box' part of our artists name.
We chose Jamie T - Sticks And Stones. This is because we wanted to create a fun, loud and laid back music video and this song allowed us to do this because Jamie's delivery on almost all of his lines have the rowdy, laid back approach.
Using a hand held camera creates the feeling we are trying to create for our music video. Using a still camera, the song would seem empty but the hand held camera amplifies the rowdiness of the song. Rowdiness often is associated with chaos, chaos requires movement and hand held camera replicates this movement.
We wanted our main artist to burst out of a van and perform the song because the doors opening can amplify the 'kick start' attitude at the start of the song. The song starts off slow but then transitions quickly into a fast paced drum beat. The van doors opening and the main artist jumping out would amplify the transition into a loud and faster song because there would be physical movement to when the song 'kick starts'. Other artists have done this on a much larger scale, Slaves. We will take inspiration from this and replicate it on a much smaller scale because it won't be the main focus of the video.
Shots at a train station would fit into our genre because train stations often belong to rough, rural estates that most indie artists come from. Other artists, including the one who's song we're using, have also used a train station. Jamie T uses the train as amplification to how the beat gets faster, the train gets faster. We could do this but it may be too close to the original video.
A bonfire would look good because fire has tie ins to danger and chaos. This fits in with our genre and we can use the fire as amplification to how the song is chaotic, reckless, rule breaking. Fires have all these qualities so it would make sense to use fire in the video. We are thinking to use fire to show how the song gets louder and louder. For this idea, we are thinking to have the fire starting at the start of the song and towards and during the final chorus, the fore is the biggest.
This idea sounds like it wouldn't fit with the recklessness of the video, however, other artists do this too. It also would connect with our target audience because it shows how the artist is a 'teenager just like them'. This is a theme that many indie artists have throughout their video because it allows a connection between the audience and the artist, this can make the artist more popular.

feedback from our pitch
After our pitch presentation, we handed out feedback sheets
to our audience to gather opinions and ideas about our pitch to see how we
could improve our ideas in order to create a better music video. The feedback
we received was positive and negative which helped for us to know which areas
we could improve as a group to create a better performance. The feedback we
received is below:
The positive feedback:
"Good different idea that fits the song"
"I like the genre"
"I like the locations"
"I like the band name, very clear and set ideas, well
researched"
"location fits with genre"
"unusual band name"
"Using real drums"
"Getting over issues you have had (missing
member)"
"The performance element (replication)"
"The assortment of locations"
"Band name is cool!!!"
"Locations as inspirational ideas are good and they
match the genre, this also works when matched to it being performance"
"Good idea using a real drummer as he knows what he's
doing"
"Environment matches the song choice"
"Styling would be good to have due to the group wearing
the same kind of clothes outside of the video"
"Good knowledge of the genre"
The negative feedback:
"Security issues when filming in certain places"
"If involving a car, then it would look better on the
road"
"Video needs to be unique when compared to
original"
"Hard filming locations"
"Think about lighting in outside locations"
Mr Ford's feedback: - "I like the name"
- "Be careful with the security in carparks"
- "I like the idea"
After receiving all the feedback from our audience, we
looked through and decided what we thought would benefit us as a group. We
decided to ignore some feedback as it was irrelevant to us as we are focusing
on the Indie genre. We decided to ignore negative feedback such as
"Filming hard locations" as we have already overcame this due to us
already doing some filming during the summer holidays with our group in
locations which we wished to use for our music video. Another comment we chose
to ignore was positive feedback such as "Band name is cool" as it
doesn't help us in anyway but it is good to know that our audience thought that
our band name is creative and out of the box compared to other band names.

shortlisting 5 potential songs
1. Sign On- By Rat Boy
I like the video for it and it had given me ideas of my own
what I could do to add and make it my own. The flow of it is what I was looking
for with bits of slow, medium and fast paced tempo.
2. Sticks 'n' Stones- By Jamie T
When I first heard this song before watching the video I
thought that this song had the capability to make a good music video, when I
watched the video I was a little disappointed so I feel like I would be able to
improve it and not take too many ideas from the video so it looks different and
more unique.
3. Bonfire- By The Hunna
I think this would be a good song to make a music video to
and it could be fairly simple, with the name of the song being called bonfire
could incorporate a few shots with a bonfire in the video.
4. High Tyde- Wine
This song is a bit more of a slow paced song which could
make it easier for me when it comes to editing the video. another thing is that
they don't have an official video for it yet so that means that again I can
come up with my own ideas instead of maybe swaying to what their video is like
because that’s what they have done.
5. Jamie T Zombie-
I like Jamie T's songs and feel like I could make
a happy and playful video with the majority of his songs, however this video
would be different as this song isn’t as happy however this could play to an advantage
but I would consider using more of a darker mise en scene and I would have to
think about outfits a bit more
our band next to existing bands
This mood-board shows our band members next to there bands with in the same genre of indie. We have chosen members that we believe look like they would fit in with the indie genre, when it comes to the video we will also make sure that the clothing brands and style is similar to the bands above that I have included. The bands that I have put next to our band members are: Rat Boy, Sundara Karma, The 1975, The Cribs, Wolf Alice, The Hunna.

Deciding on a song
Chosen Song: Jamie T's- Sticks 'n' stones
Pretty much from the beginning we knew that we had wanted to do a music video that is within the indie genre, so because of this we had instantly narrowed the song choice down by discluding most options for a possible choice. The song we have decided we would choose for our music video was Jamie T's sticks and stones the reasoning that we have chosen this is because when listening to it we had all came up with ideas for what we could do, the song fit in with the genre, also the different tempos allow us to do lots of different shots but we believe we can make a professional looking music video that can be realistically achieved with this song.

Deciding on a band name and biography
We have come to the conclusion to call our band 'Bathtub Shouting' we have decided to call it this after much analysis of similar bands in the same/ similar genres. The reason we have come up with this name is it's quirky and quite memorable, I also noticed that a lot of bands especially in the indie genre usually have more than one word for their bands e.g. Rat-Boy Two door cinema club, high Tyde.
Bathtub Shouting is a band that has been formed in Leicester after three friends decided to form together as a band in early 2017. Each of the members had all been involved in music since young ages, they had all known each other from school but their friendship grew once a school teacher tested to see how sound together with Fin on the vocals, Alfie on the bass and Brad on the drums, one temporary school project has now resulted in an indie band performing out in the real world. All three of them come from a working class background because of this, an inspiration to the band is rat-boy a band that have used the motto 'scum' and the band feels like they relate with Ratboy and would love to be as big as them one day.
the band is formed of two 18 year olds (Fin and Alfie) and one 19 year old (Brad) they released an EP where there number one hit 'Sticks 'N' Stones was an instant hit gaining over 2 million views on YouTube.
